Ski holidays with Siegi Tours

John Symons, club secretary, is the UK agent for Siegi Tours. Siegi Tours is based in Salzburger Land in Austria and is owned and operated by Siegi & Irene Baumgartner. It is through them that we organise our own very successful ski trips to St Johann im Pongau in the Sportwelt Amade. We have built up an excellent relationship with them as a club but John has been staying in the area for a lot longer than the club has been going there.

Siegi Tours is a family business with the personal touch. You deal with the owners direct and they are around every evening to ensure your holiday is going smoothly.

Although we organise club trips to the area, usually in January and March and a long weekend at Easter, we realise that you may be unable to travel on our selected dates. For that reason John is able to help you arrange a ski trip at any time during the season. Please note that unlike UK "mass" tour operators who hike their prices to coincide with popular weeks, Siegi Tours has one price for the whole season. The only exception is Christmas/New Year when the price rises as the holiday is for 8 days rather than the usual 6.

Siegi Tours has a basic 6-night package, which is half board accommodation and ski school. Travel arrangements are NOT included allowing you the choice of flying or driving out. Excellent equipment hire is available in the village at lower prices than normal hire shops. Any length of stay can be arranged for you. We can help with information on flights to Munich or Salzburg and car hire. We can give you driving routes if you want to take your own car. Quite simply Siegi Tours is geared around ensuring you get the holiday you want. Whatever you want to do we can help you sort it out.

Golf as well?

Yes some 5 years ago Siegi Baumgartner decided to add his love of golf to his tour programme. Austria has some quite outstanding courses and its a secret that Europe has yet to discover. They offer a 6-night bed and breakfast holiday with 5 days of golf. Every day a different course including championship courses like Zell am See, Schladming and Brandlhof. All courses have magnificent mountain views, superb greens and great hospitality. John and Iain have been going every year, for 4 years, to play each September. If you like golf you will love the area. Expensive? Not at all. The basic package of accommodation and golf costs around £240. Flights and car hire will add from £120 depending on whether you fly into Salzburg or Munich. (Its cheaper to fly into Munich and car hire is also a lot cheaper in Germany than Austria.) From Munich to St Johann takes around 2 hours, from Salzburg its around 1 hour. As with skiing we can help with flight details and car hire info. You can of course self drive and we can provide routes for you to follow.

Important note

Please note we do not handle any money from you. You make payment direct to the Baumgartners in Austria. You book through us and we will pass on your booking to Siegi Tours, however we will provide you the details of how you pay your deposit direct to them. You pay the balance on arrival in the village.
