The Back Page

This years 100club winner of the skis is Nick Goodenough. Nick was on the January trip to Austria so we were able to get them for him there. Unfortunately the first name to come out of the hat for the free holiday was unable to accept. It was the same with the second. We have to allow a few days for people to decide and by then we found that flights were not available at anywhere near reasonable prices. We are looking at giving a place on the Easter trip or possibly on the Queen’s Golden Wedding bank holiday weekend as we are planning a glacier ski trip then. Failing that we will pay out the money as extra prizes.

Ever wonder why we don’t appear in Frontrunner too often? Well it used not to be for want of trying but it seemed to be very hard to get an article in. Things changed when Marc Heames was manager of the sports and social section. Since his departure we have found life difficult again. With our own web site up and running we shall now be able to pit our pictures there foe everyone to see however we still need the publicity that Frontrunner undoubtedly gives us. If you want to see more about the club in Frontrunner why not contact them and ask them to put more in .

Do you remember “Fred says” the bit I used to put on the bottom of this page written by our moggie, Fred. Well dear old Fred is long gone now but we have a new resident named Clyde. He adopted us, coming from a family across the road who already had two cats when their daughter returned home (divorced) with her 2 cats. Clyde and his sister Bonnie (yes Bonnie & Clyde) had to live in a shed outside as they didn’t get on with the 2 existing cats. Well Clyde decided to make a run for it and he is now in paradise. His favourite food is Tuna and he is eagerly awaiting the invention of the tin of tuna that opens itself when a cat meows at it! If you know how to invent one believe me you could make a fortune. Anyway Clyde, like Fred, likes nothing better than to jump up on the desk and stand in front of the PC screen while I am trying to type . More from Clyde in coming issues.
